This is a new interview format asking Teachers about
how they'll spend their long awaited Summer Vacation
after a year filled with hardships and work, in celebration
of end of year.

Hello, Ms. Shamila. Thank you for taking the time to talk with me today. I know things are busy at the end of the term, so I appreciate your time.
Of course, dear, it’s my pleasure.
To start, are you planning to travel anywhere, or will you stay in the UAE this summer?
Yes, I plan to travel to my home country, India, to meet my family—it’s been quite a while since I’ve seen them. I’ll be spending most of the summer there before coming back to relax in the UAE.
That’s exciting! My next question for you would be, is there something you’re especially looking forward to doing during the break?
Oh yes, I’d love to relax and take the time to recharge after a packed year: it was an intense one but very memorable. I’m also looking forward to having my mom’s food; it’s always an amazing feeling going back to the nostalgic memories of home-cooked meals with loved ones.
Indeed it is! Alright, next question, are there any hobbies or personal goals you hope to focus on over the holiday?
That’s a wonderful question! I’ve had one goal in mind for a while: to meet my college friends—I haven’t seen them in 10 years. We are preparing a small get-together soon, hopefully, so I’m looking
forward to that!
I hope you have a good time then! I have one last question: what’s one thing you always try to do before school starts again?

I always make sure to go over the UAE School Inspection Framework; it reminds me of all my responsibilities as a teacher. Additionally, I study innovative teaching methods: they help me grasp how I should approach teaching in a way that’s engaging yet also informative.
That’s interesting! Well, that’s it. Thank you so much for your time; I hope you enjoy this summer break!
No problem. I hope you enjoy it too!
